Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri
Is forwarding a private email illegal?
An email I sent to someone in private was forwarded to my college administration and is now being used to possibly withhold my scholarships. Is it illegal to forward private emails? Or, is it illegal to use a private email like that?

Re: Is forwarding a private email illegal?
Without knowing more facts, I can't really answer your question, but I think it might be a good idea, if a college scholarship is involved, to go see an attorney about the issue. Generally a private conversation emailed to someone else can be sent to anyone without any problems, although someone can't make commercial use of your email without your approval.
Your best bet is to see an attorney and explain to him or her the facts and let them guide you.
