Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri
Storage Units
I purched a storage unit bussiness last year. All the tenants are not in contract at this time. Some of them are continuing to use their storage unit and not pay their monthly rent. By law and without leases or contracts how can we recover our lost rent? Is there anyway to use their stuff to recover our loss or their past rent?

Re: Storage Units
There are several issues that may impact your right to recover the past due rent. Without knowing more facts about the purchase details, notice to the tenants of change of ownership, and the terms of the past contracts I cannot give a definite answer. I am certain however, that you have a right to the rent and that there are options for legal recovery.
