Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Missouri
I may have to have back sugery. The doctor says I might be out of work for about 4 weeks. Can my place of employment fire me for being off so long?

If you still have Family Medical Leave Act tiem left, then you might be able to preserve your job by making that election. The HR department at yrou employer may be able to assist you in making your election to use the time. You may, and possibly should, consult with an employment attorney in your area to look over all the information in your specific case before alerting your employer to the potential time off. Many attorneys offer free or low cost initial consulation.
