Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Missouri

I have a car with a lien on it, and have a judgement against me for a hospital bill and the sheriff came to my house yesterday, informing me they were going to do so next week if we did not pay the delinquent bill. Can they do this when there is already a lien on the vehicle?

You did not indicate "why" the sheriff came to your house. Is it the hospital bill credior or the auto lien holder that sent them? If it was the lien holder, then you can expect them to come back for the car, if you are behind on yoru payments. If it was the judgment lien holder, than teh deputies may come out again to assess what other assets you have that can go toward satisfying that judgment. Perhaps you can make payment arrangements with either or both of them.

Good luck
