Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Missouri

Name Changing

I would like to use my middle name for my first name instead of using my first name and middle initial. My father and I have the same first name and I would just like to use my middle name for all of my identity purposes. Can I just change this on my own, or do I need to do it legally somehow?

Thank-You.

Re: Name Changing

You are free to call yourself anything you wish, so long as you do not commit fraud by doing so. You will have to use your given name for formal documents such as automobile titles, but casually you may call yourself by whatever name you choose.
