Can a hotel deny me a room due to breaking a lease with them when I rented an apartment through them before

Based upon what little you described, there send to be nothing to compel such a motel to let a room to you. But, facts that you didn't describe might change that evaluation. Perhaps you could consult directly with a civil or civil rights attorney in your area.
