Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Missouri
Inlaws have my possessions
My husband has been shot and is now dead. We have been living in separate households for almost 3 years but are not legally separated or divorced. The items in the house where he resided were ours together however his parents own the trailer and the land. They will not let me have anything out of the house even though they know it is mine and I paid for it. They also have in their possession our 2000 Ford Ranger pickup that is only in our names and they won't let me have it either. What are my rights ?

Re: Inlaws have my possessions
You may wish to have a policeman or sheriff's deputy accompany you to the trailer to retrieve your belongings. If this does not solve your problem, you may need to open a probate estate for your deceased husband.
Good Luck
