Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Missouri

Surveillance of Private Property

Can my neighbor legally surveil by backyard? I understand that I have no ''expectation of privacy'' as I have a chain-linked fence. However, my neighbor has a six-foot privacy fence and has installed a convex mirror, possibly connected with video, to look over her fence into my backyard. Does she have a right to do this?

Re: Surveillance of Private Property

There's no reason for her to observe your backyard, but to get her to stop, you'll have to get a court order. And, I doubt you'll get it, since yuou've admitted your lawn is completely open to view from her house and there really isn't any difference in having a mirror up, and her simply standing in her backyard looking into your yard, which she is fully entitled to do.
