If you had been drinking and was walking home. You tripped on a board sticking out of a hole in the sidewalk, and you were seriously injured, and may not be able to use your hands again. Who would be liable for this. Thank You

In Missouri, depending upon who owns or maintains teh sidewalk, proving liability can be dificult. It is important to preserve evidence. If you have not retained an attorney yet, I urge you to obtain photographs of the hole with the board sticking out of it. Try to get them from various angles, and at the time of day/night that you fell.

If this occurred within 100 miles of Kansas City, I would be happy to speak with you regarding this matter.

Good Luck,

Tony Smith

Those persons and/or institutions who injure others through their negligence must respond in money damages. Drunkeness is a factor which enters into the amount of damages, but is not a bar to a successful recovery. You will have to identify those responsible for the hazard which injured you, and pursue them through the civil justice system. Consult a Personal Injury Attorney in your town.
