Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Missouri

Will I Be Able to Sue for Pain and Suffering

I am a student at Harris-Stowe State University. I was jumped and attacked at the school. I was even sent threating emails. The girls that jumped still attend the school. Even after I told the President who the girls were. I even have a witness that heard them say that they know who the main girl is that jumped. So do you think I have a case.

Re: Will I Be Able to Sue for Pain and Suffering

You have not provided enough factual information to make it possible to give you a clear answer to your question as to whether you have acause of action. If you are attacked in an area controlled by a land owner, you may be able to bring a cause of action against that land owner. In your case, it may be possible for you to bring an action against the Board of Regents or some agent of them, such as university officials or security personnel.

Under the facts that you did provide, it sems aparent that you have a cause of action against the perpetrators themselves. You might focus there second. Firstly, you should facus on your recovery and containued safety. Do not put yourself in a situation that might cause a repeat of your being assaulted.

Good Luck
