Legal Question in Technology Law in Missouri
I.D Theft, Pretexting and Wire Tapping
I am going thru a divorce. Once my wife left I set up a new phone service with a different company in my name only. I also changed my internet service to an account in my name only. My wife moved out of the marital home in Nov 2004. I have discovered (On December 26 2006) that my wife was receiving electronic copies of my phone bills delivered to her e-mail address. I believe she accomplished this by using my SSN and my phone number and pretending to be me. Note: my phone bills are a combined land line and ''family plan'' (my parents) cell phone. I am not sure when she started receiving the bills electronically. My phone provider will not release that info unless I can get a subpoena served. My local county sheriff / prosecturer will not act on this issue. I also learned during the deposition process that my wife was intercepting (she admitted the act) my e-mails, including my information between myself and my attorney. I have had essentially no attorney client priviledge. At this time, local law officials (county sheriff, etc) will not act on any of this as they state no ''state laws'' have been broken. Who do I contact or what should I do? I am under the impression that laws have been broken. Am I wrong about this?
