Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
Advertised price is not possible
There are a number of funeral homes that advertise a price for cremation from $529. However, you cannot have a cremation done for that price because they have MANDATORY ad ons which make the price $300 over the advertised $529. The mandatory fees are not required by law, they ad them on so they can advertise a lower price. Is this bait and switch, and is this legal?

Re: Advertised price is not possible
Most likely not. I would report them to the Attorney General's office. They have a consumer fraud division, and you can get the information on line from the Missouri Attorney General.
Also, you may have a valid consumer lawsuit against these folks. Chapter 407 RSMO provides that no person may engage in deceptive marketing. That certainly sounds like it fits the bill.
