Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
New car purchase
I recently traded in a vehicle that I was leasing for a new vehicle that i would own. I purchased the vehicle on 23 Oct 06 and on 31 Oct 06 the dealership called and said that I had to return the vehicle. I called the creditor that my original vehicle was through and they said it had already been paid off. The dealership said that they couldn't get financing for me. But before I signed the contract for my new vehicle they made me wait until it was a done deal. I didn't sign nothing stating that they have a time frame for finding financing and if they couldn't then I have to give the vehicle back. I have a signed contract and a letter from the creditor of my other vehicle stating that it was paid off. So what are my rights in regards to this?

Re: New car purchase
This is going to be one of those cases that hinges on the contracts and the words used. Find an attorney near you right away and do not delay. I believe you've likely a way to hold on to the car so long as you comply with the contract. But find an attorney close to you so that you can get an opinion based on the documents.
