Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
Car service Dept.
So I recently had my oil changed at a dealership. They messed it up and as a result destroyed my engine. They replaced the engine with a salvage engine for me. The next day it was stuttering and I had to bring it back in, finding out that at some point water got into one of the cylinders causing it to misfire. I am trying to figure out if I have any claim for the fact that the value if the car is decreased because it doesn't have the original engine and if I have a claim for the time I missed off work. I have had more problems with these guys than this, but this is my main concern.

Re: Car service Dept.
Under the facts you described, it appears you have claim for dimunition of value of the vehicle. However, you do not have grounds to get your lost time recompensed. If you had to rent a vehicle for your normal use, while the care was out, you might be able to get that.
