Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri

Ebay Motors sales fraud

I had a camper for auction on Ebay. The winning bidder asked me to let him out of the deal prior to the end of the auction. He claimed a friend needed financial help and he ''had'' to help him. He won the auction and would not complete the sale due to the circumstances he was in. I offered to keep the camper for the 6 week pay back period he described in a phone conversation. Then he extended the pay back period until April next year. Empathetic to his situation, I agreed to accept a check for $200 to cover Ebay listing and relisting fees and my incovenience. Today, I found that he purchased a Jeep on Ebay using the ''buy it now'' option for $900 less than his winning bid for my camper. This was a period of approximately 12 days between the end of my auction and him placing the winning bid for the Jeep. Do I have any legal recourse with this individual in Illinois (my residence) or Missouri (his residence) since a winning bid on Ebay is considered a legally binding contract? Apparently, I accepted his ''settlement'' offer under fraudulent pretenses.

Regards,

Re: Ebay Motors sales fraud

Hello. You can file a lawsuit against the person

who successfully bid in Illinois where you reside. What he did does amount to fraud. I

will be happy to answer any additional questions

that you might have.
