Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
faulty design new england firearm
I have recently been injured by the faulty design and discharge of a sportster ss 22 long rifle made by new england fire arms. I simply put the bullet in the gun and went to close it, and it fired, before the gun was locked closed. The casing flew and lodged upon firing into my left eye going through my eye lid first. As of now I have no vision, My ophthalmologist says it may take several months to know for sure if my vision will restore my eye was seriously injured. I bought the rifle at wal-mart and it is considered a junior model gun, therefore putting children in serious harms way. They sell them with no hammer extention so when a scope is put on you can't release the hammer without accidentally discharging the gun, and the design of this gun has no safety on it . I feel this is a very serious issue. please write me back.... thanks p.s. the gun is a rim fire

Re: faulty design new england firearm
Many questions come to mind including: Do you still have the gun and the bullet casing, in unmodified condition? How old was the gun when this occurred? When did the injury occur? Do you still have the receipt from purchasing the gun at Wal-Mart? How old are you, and how experienced are you with firearms?
There's obviously a lot of information I don't know yet, but it does sound to me like you have a very good case against the gun manufacturer, especially if this gun was relatively new when this occurred. My office is in Springfield, and I would willing to meet with you to take a look at the gun and discuss your situation. Im not allowed to put a phone number in this answer, but you can get my phone number from my web site, or respond to my e-mail address below if youd like to meet with me.
