Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri

Lost Credt/Debit Cards

I lost my wallet with my money$400, debit and credit cards with on the 12th of May. This morning my bank called me about suspicious charges on my card. I have cancelled the cards and I have filed a police report. I will be ble to get the ID of the person using my cards because they used it at a local gas station. Will I be able to file suit against the person? My Cards also have ''CID'' on the back. Would I be able to file suit against the companies that processed my card without verifying identification?

Re: Lost Credt/Debit Cards

Your liability on the stolen cards is supposed to be limited to $50. Placing "see ID" on the cards may have helped you get your cards back. You certainly have a cause of action against the criminal who took your cards, but probably not against the people who charged things on them in good faith. However, you should talk to an attorney in your region to get a firm answer before taking any action.
