Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
I obtained a car title loan and have paid double the loan amout already and am being told the amount I owe is almost double the original loan amount. The title company does NOT have the title and charged me for sales taxes and registration of the vehicle. I paid the sales tax and got the vehicle registered myself but that amount is still tallied in the loan amount. Am I obligated to pay the amount they are asking since they DON'T have the title and I've already paid the double the original loan amount?

You did nto say whether they had placed a lein on the title to the vehicle. You should not be charged for the cost to title the vehicle, if you did that on your own. It is unclear whther you will have to pay sales tax, as it may depend on the type and wording of you rloan documents.
