Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri

I recently hired a mechanic to replace the engine in my vehicle. I was quoted that I would get a new engine with a warranty. I was called and asked to pay 2,500.00 dollars up front so he could get the part i.e. the engine. Took the vehicle in October and picked up on the Fifth of October. I have had the vehicle back more times then I can count. Took the vehicle in last week he has continued to work on it and has charged me for "replacement parts". I called the business that rebuilt the engine and have discovered that my mechanic has put in an engine with a different serial number on it. The rebuilder will not honor warranty. Engine is still functioning but does not run correctly. Curious as to what my options are?

You may have to complain to the attorney general's office through their web site. You may also have to sue to get the mechanic to p[ay for the repairs that should have been covered under warranty, or repay you for repairs at another garage. You might also consider one of the several television station Community action type programs,

Good luck
