Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
Refund of Deposit...
My husband & I put a deposit down on a mobile home. We decided on a different home & now the other place will not return our deposit. We were never told of a no return policy nor did we sign anything that said we would not get it back. I have the reciept for the $200 we put down. Do I have a right to get it back? I'm npt sure what catagory this falls under so I picked consumer law. Sorry.

Re: Refund of Deposit...
The answer will depend on what you signed when you paid the deposit. If what you deposited was for "earnest money" and the contract says you forfeit that money, then you likely cannot get it back. If you were told it was refundable and no document was signed, you should be able to recover it in small claims court.
Good luck.
