Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
can I sue someone if I brought something and they never paid taxes from a previous state and now refuse to pay bad taxes they owe
1 Answer from Attorneys
The question "can I sue?" is almost alwys ansered "Yes." The relat question is if the case woudl likely make it past Motion to Dismiss or for Summary Judmgnet field by the other side. That is a factual determination. What the sale docuemnts or agreements said about clarity of title to the property, or unpaid taxes is very important. Also, the type of property and taxes in question determine how much unwritten language the law will presume is part of the agreement.
It is impossibile to give you specific advice based upon your generalized description of the facts. If you are still curious about your likelihood of success in court, you should consult directly with a civil practice attorney in your area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation. Take all the documents you have, and be available for follow-up questions from the attorney.
Good luck
