Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
I was told by a car salesman the only way I could get financing, is if I bought a specific car. I wanted a used one but was told to get financing I had to buy a specific new car. Is this true?

That may be true. But, you didn't provide any evidence of your credit worthiness,. So, there's no way to evaluate the truth of the statement. But, when you start out with "I was told b a car salesman", the truth of what comes next should always be verified before you act. Try another dealership or lot. Go to your bank or credit union, to see what loans you will fy for.
Car salesmen are experts in getting people to buy the car they want to sell. They may not know anything about finances.
