Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri

Unauthorized Credit Card Purchase

A charge of $9.95 has been charged to our credit card over a period of time without our conscent. After contacting the company I informed them that I never requested for this service nor have I ever received the credit reports they supposedly had sent.

The company informed me that they would pull the tape recording were I conscented for this service and have a supervisor call me back in a couple of weeks. Well, that request was made on 3/17/2006 and as of 5/6/2006 I have received no phone call or response even after several follow-up calls.

Each time I would call the representative would indicate the time it takes time to obtain the recordings (2 weeks to 1 month, depending on the rep) and once obtained a supervisor will notify us.

I called today for the fourth time and the representative indicated to me that the statue of limitations has expired, which was 3 months, and there is nothing we can do.

I have obtained records of these calls and have credit card records of this charge.

Is there anything we can do?

Re: Unauthorized Credit Card Purchase

Contact your credit card company and have the charges reversed. If they don't all get reversed, you may be able to take teh company to small claims court.

Good Luck
