Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
unwanted merchandise
I bought a chair from sit4less 3 months ago and it was delivered. Last week another, identical chair was delivered. I have contacted sit4less and the chair manufacturer to have it picked up with no response. How long am I obligated to keep it? It's a big box! If I store it in the garage am I obligated to replace it if it's stolen?

Re: unwanted merchandise
Hopefully you contacted the seller and manufacturer in writing. If not, send them a letter and an email and keep a copy of each. In Missouri you are required to keep and take care of the merchandise for a reasonable time. What is reasonable differs as do the facts of each case.
If you purchased the first chair online, you may have agreed to a longer holding time or you may have agreed to be bound by the laws of the state where Sit4less is domiciled. Be careful. Make sure that both your letter and your email get to them, before discarding the second chair.
Are you certain you did not agree to buy several charis over time? Some online sellers are sneaky with what they put into the agreement. Oftetnr they require you to check abox stating that you read and understand the agreement. If you can, look again at the sales agreement.
Good Luck
