Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri
Vehicle Warranty Work
I had some warranty work done on a vehicle at a car dealership six weeks ago. When I picked up the vehicle, I paid what they said I owed. Now they are calling me and saying they made an accounting error and they need $800 more. Am I obligated to pay this since I have a copy of the original invoice marked paid by them and a copy of the cancelled check they cashed?

Re: Vehicle Warranty Work
You should probably consult an attorney. If you have their forms marked paid, that creates a presumption that they were paid. The accounting problem is their problem. You might not have agreed to have the repair done if you knew it would cost you $800 more. It might well be worth forcing the issue, but it may also have a bad effect on your credit, so I would advise sitting down with your family lawyer and discussing this.
