I have a $28,500 judgement against my ex husband. The judgemnt was obtained hrough an arbitration case in Illinois...where i live. My ex husband lives in Missouri. I have his employment and banking information and SSN. I understand that I need to file a writ of execution in order to garnish his wages and accounts and property. I am happy to pay an attorney to help....will any work on contingency?

Most attorneys who do collection, as I do, will get theri fees on acontingency basis. However, the clien tis almost always responsible for the costs of litigation (filing fees, personal service fees, registration of foreign judgement fee, etc.). Those total from fifty-eight to a copule hundred dollars, dependig upon the case. If you are interested in having me collect this debt for you. please email me so that we can confer on the particulars of your case.

Yes, many attorneys will help you collect your money under a contingencey fee agreement. That agreement will also require you to pay costs. If your ex is located or is employed in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area or within the surrounding counties, I can help you. We will need to obtain a certified or acknowledged copy of the judgment that you have, and register that judgment in court here in Missouri. Then we can file a execution or a garnishment to beging the collection process. Please call me or hire an attorney in the geographical area where your ex can be found.
