Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

I had someone attempt to issue me a subpoena today and I was not home. It was for a past credit card that is in collections. I have been in touch with the law office for a few weeks now and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. The man trying to issue the subpoena called my real estate agent (sign in front yard) and not only was very rude to him he told him what the subpoena was for.

I was just wondering if he was able to not only call my agent but also disclose that the subpoea was for a past due visa account. My agent is a family friend and I'm a little upset that he not only was very rude but gave personal information about me.

Thanks for any help

Greg

It was probably not a subpoena but a summons attached to a Petition. The sheriff's deputy or special process server probably did not violate the law by taking the actions you describe. If I were you I would hire an attorey to represent me int he lawsuit. An attorney should be able to save you more money than your attorney costs. Do not rely upon anything the creditor says. After all, they sued you while telling you that they woudl get back to you. Hire an attorney.
