Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

I borrowed money from a friend, and am in the process of paying money back, and have lived and continue to live up to verbal promises. Friend has now gotten into financial trouble and has chosen to threaten to file suit to collect debt. Any suggestions

If there are no writings, create one. Write an eamil or letter to yrou friend thta details the oral agreement,a nd yoru planned continued compliance. This may deter a successful suit against you. Then start paying more thant the agreement. Yoru friend helped you when you wre in a financial need, your shoudl do the same. If one is to suffer under financial problems now, it shoudl be you, not them.
