Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

I bought a car earlier this year (from a private owner) but I found out, after the fact that the car wasn't paid off by the lady i bought it from. What options do I have to either get the title or get a refund

To get clear title you may have to pay the lender. You will likely have to sue the seller to get reimbursed or a refund for returning the vehicle.
