civil judgment I never knew about

I was just notified of a 10 year old civil judgment against me. 10 years ago I was told by my lawyer, I am unable to remember his name after so long, and not having to ever use him again, that the case was dropped or done and I could go home. I was at the court house. I assumed all was over and went on with my life. The judgment has been revived. Why didn't it ever appear on my credit report or anyone try to collect for 10 years. Shouldn't I have been notified. It has more than doubled due to 9% interest.

You rt house should have your attorney's name and contact information. That is if they entered their appearance. Take up this matter with your attorney before doing anything else. Some court records can be accessed online through Casenet
