Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

consumer debt

If a credit card debt falls uncollected by the statute of limitations and I am sued how do I handle it? Do I show up at court and tell the judge or contact the collection agency itself?

Re: consumer debt

If you have been served then you must appear in court on your court date or have an attorney appear for you. If you fail to do so, a default judgment will be entered against you. An attorney can file the proper pleadings and take the proper actions to have the case dismissed if the statute of limitations has run. Good luck.
