ex wife had lawer file contempt of court, saying i have never paid any loan payments since 02-02-03, since the divorce, divorce says i must pay the bills, i have paper from ford credit showing payments have been payed, & are up to date, in 02-02-03, i had to get an extension, was out of work, several times i have been late in the month, but all payments are paid up, lawer said he only went with what ex said, but i owe him 1,500 dollars for him filing the paper work, the charge was false he now admits it i dont see why i owe him the money, we never went to court, the charges are not true .

Your ex-wife owes him $1,500, not you. She hired him. You don't owe him a thing unless and until a judge tells you that you do. If the charge was specious you can tell the attorney that you intend to file a "motion for sanctions under Rule 55.03" because a simple check with Ford Motor Credit would have disclosed that the allegations were false, and under Rule 55.03 he was charged with the requirement to do an investigation to ensure that the case had a good-faith basis in fact and in law. Since it had no such basis, you'll ask the court to sanction him and his client.
I would suggest that the lawyer will agree you don't owe him anything after this discussion.
