Cosigners rights

I cosigned a car for my aunt. She totaled the car shortly after and quit making all payments and quit paying the insurance. Now the lendor is coming after me for the balance due. I do not have the car or the keys and the car is not drivable. Can I sue my aunt for the remainder of the balance. What are my rights.
