The easiest is fo rthe principal lendee to pay the debt or refinance it in their own name. The alternative is the ask the lender to cancel your guarantee of the debt, or to pay the debt off yourself, and have the princiapl borrower pay you back. Other then that, you are probably on the loan until if get paid or goes to judgmetn for nonpayment or other breach. If you fear that the principal borrower will default, you might be better off to pay off the loan balance, and repossess any collateral or security for the loan.(car, etc.) If you wait until default, you may owe much more interests, reposeesion costs and attorney fees. If you pay it off anbd then take possession of the collateral (car, etc.) the principal lender is more likley to repay you.

Good luck
