Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Our credit agency for our car has been telling my husband's employer that they are looking for our car and also the repo company is also calling his employer and telling his employee about coming to get our car and giving specific information about our car and credit. What recourse do we have?

The agency, (if they aren't the creditor), has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) under the facts you described. You may file suit for damages. The Repo people may be somewhat protected in trying to get information about the whereabouts of the vehicle. But, if there satements went too far, they may be a defendant to a suit, just like a collection agency.

If the statements to the employer were made by a collection agency, you should consult directly with a civil attorney in your area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck
