Is a widower responsible for their spouse's credit card debt if the card was not in both of their names?

If you did not sign the credit card slips and did not sign the credit card agreement, you are not responsible for the debt. The debt is attributable to the estate. The widower should not pay anyone anything on these accounts. If harassed by debt collectors, see an attorney.
The above changes if the widower becomes the personal representative of the estate. The personal representative of the estate (a court appointed position) is responsible to pay all the debts of the estate.
