credit card lein on my home

im trying to find out why , on the day i was to close on selling my home, to pay off deliquint credit card bills or should i say angry companys. and it was brought to my attention that i couldnt close Because there was a lein! Yes a lein from one of the credit card co. I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE of such action being taken.... is that RIGHT? what rights do i have? in missouri.

A lien usually does not arise by operation of law. Someone had to sue you, get a jugdment, and place the lien on your home. If you were not served with notice of the lawsuit, you may have a defense.

You need to consult with a lawyer right away.
