I owe a credit card over $5000, but I don't have a job and never have, I'm a student, plus I don't have any assets. Can they sue me?

Yes. And, after they take a judgment agaisnt you interest will continue to accrue at the credit card rate, which will turn your $5000 balance into mny times that over time. Also, the creditor will be able to garnish your wages, your bank account, execute upon your car, and other property, have a lien against any real estate that you may come to own, report the judgment to all of the credit bureaus and generally make life very miserable for you until they get their money. It would probably be best for you to work someting out.
