A recent case held that the statute is five years, but keep in mind that this new case is not final on appeal. Also keep in mind that any payment on the account restarts the statute of limitations. So, if you made payments on an account unil January 1, 2000, and then stopped, and then made a payment in May of 2003, the statute would run from May of 2003, not from January of 2000.
