Debt Question

Does a company that buys your debt from the company you have the debt with have the right to garnish your bank accounts and wages to collect the debt they bought from the original company if they do not have a signed contract for the debt from the person that has the debt.

A creditor must have a judgment before the creditor can run a garnishment. If there is an issue concerning the assignment of a debt from one creditor to another, that issue could be tried in the lawsuit brought against the debtor and the second creditor should have to prove up the purchase of the debt.
