If the first dentist was incorporated, and the corproation was holding your credit balance, then you will have to find out more information in order to determine if ht e"new" dentist owes you the money. You will need to know if just the name an dfacilities were purchased, or all the assets, or just the client list. Until they can show otherwise, the old dentist still owes you the crdit blalnce. If the new dentist now has your dental records, and persoanl information, your position shoudl be, that either they are now holding yoru credit balance, or they violated yoru HIPAA rights by viewing or possessiing yrou private records without your consent. If the amoutn of the credit is woethwhile, it might pay to have an attorney write a letter to BOTh dentist on your behalf.
