divorce debt

my daugher divorced. after they seperated the exhusband incurred a debt on a Wells Fargo joint account that had been inactive. The divorce settlement says that he is responsible for the debt but has not made any attempt to pay. Wells Fargo continues to call my daughter for payment. How should she handle this?

She should see her divorce attorney and get him to file a show cause order for contempt of court. If the decree requires him to be responsible, then the way to enforce the decree is to say that he is in contempt for not doing as the judge has ordered.
