My husband opened a business a couple years ago (doing business as) my name was not on the business. Since then we have lost the business and one of his creditors has a lean agains my house. My question is my dad has passed and left me his car. If I get it liscensed in my name can the creditor take it?

Except in cases where the car is collateral for a laon, it is very unlikely that a creditor would be able to execute on a private vehicle. If you did not guaranty or sign any obligations, the debt from your husband's business may not even be collectable against you. They would have to obtain a judgment against you first.
Good luck
