Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri
My husband and I are on Social Security and that is the only income we have. We are drowning in credit card debt to the point that we are unable to pay the credit card payments. We have enough income to pay our house payment, our life insurance, our burial payment, and my husbands medication, and utilities. After these are paid for the month, we have about $150 - $200 left for groceries. I have been borrowing from one credit card to pay another and we have almost exhausted our limit. If I don't pay them can they take our Social Security? I am at wits end. Thank you for any help

It is very unlikely that a credit card company woudl be able to garnish social security payments, or execute on the bank account that they are being placed in. But, if the fudns are comingled iwth money garnered form other sources, (such as a credit card cash advance), then the money may be vulnerable to execution. You know that living off cash advances is not good financial planning.
Good luck
