Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Help

My name is--name removed--and when I was 17 I got pulled over by a cop, who thought i was doing a drug deal ( I was NOT) he did'nt find anything so ended up giving me a ticket for no turn signal. My sister did get arrested from this cop b/c she did not get out of the car when he told her to. My parents hired a lawyer and this lawyer fixed my ticket and my sisters. Now 3 years later my parents did not pay him and he is threatning to sue me. Can he because I was not 18?

Re: Help

Let me make sure ai understand you, You are asking lawyers if alawyer who effectively represented two clients, but did not get paid, should be allowed to collect his fee from one of the clients. If that is the situation, the clients should pay the attorney the resaonable fee for his services. If that is you, you should pay before getting sued.

The ripped off lawyer may file suit against a client who was under the age of eighteen at the time they were charged with a crime or ordinance violation. That twenty year old client can raise the issue of their age. They may file a Motion to Dismiss the Petition, as to them, on the basis of their age. It is unclear under the limited facts you provided, whether that Motion would be successful. It appears that whatever lawyer that was hired to draft, file and argue such a motion would require a significant deposit from the that client.

Good Luck
