Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Judgement on Credit Report, DUE to a law office mistake please advise what to do

My wife had used a headhunter to secure a position. Wife quit half way through the contract. A law firm contacted us stating payment was still due. My wife settled with the firm and we have letters stating an agreement was reached PRIOR to court date AND in fact payment was rendered BEFORE court date. We were told since agreement AND payment were rendered before court date that it would be canceled and no need to show in court. After recently checking credit report she now as a JUDGEMENT against her for this very settlement. We have the documentation stating payment was recieved and the dates are WELL before the court date. Now this particular law office is saying there is nothing they can do. PLEASE HELP... our credit is VERY GOOD( or was) and we are or were TRYING to secure a home loan. Thank you for your time

Depending upon when the judgment was entered, you may still be able to file a Motion with the Court seeking to set aside the Judgment. If you are located in the Eastern half of the state you may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822. If not, I would suggest you contact an attorney in your area immediately.
