Lease

If someome defaults on lease, they are notified by certified mail and verbally to return equipment, but refuse to, can I go to the police to regain possession of equipment. i have the bill of sale and it belongs to me.

You could ask the police to get involved, but it doesn't mean they will. In order for it to be a police matter, it must involve unlawful intent on the part of the other person to retain possession of the equipment.

A lawyer could help you get a "writ of replevin" in Circuit Court. That writ is served by the Sheriff who will take possession of the equipment until the lawsuit over the possession is finished.
