long distance bill being taken to court over
i have a question i have a 2000 dollar long distance bill that im being taken to court over i have not been employed for a while and i was served with papers to appear in court over the matter i have since made payment arrangements with there lawyer can they still take me to court and get money from me i really cant afford to pay my husband who has no part in it agreed to help me pay them off thats why im able can they still get a settle ment if im unemployed

I am a little unclear as to your question. A creditor can get a judgment regardless of your employment status. If you have a job or not, they can get a judgment, and then they can attach your bank accounts, your property, and your wages when you do get a job.
If you have made arrangements with the lawyer, then you need to make sure those arrangements are in writing and that the matter is settled and that you are not required to appear. Otherwise, you need to appear and make sure the judge knows you've reached an agreement. The judge may make your agreement part of the record.
