Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri
I made a personal loan to a family member who lives in Missouri and I live in Virginia. It was for $5000, nearly $6000 with fees, interest, etc. but I see $3000 the limit for small claims in Missouri. What type of suit/claim do I file for more than $3000?

You may wish to file an Associate Circuit case. If your relative lives within 50 miles of Kansas City, I may be able to assist you.

You would need to file the suit in Circuit Court (or as the previous answer states, Associate Circuit Court.) Due to your being out of state it would be a good idea to hire an attorney to represent you.
