Is there any way to protect yourself if you marry someone who has bad credit or owes back chid support?

You may not be able to protect all your joint assets. But, if you work and you put your salary into a seperate checking account. This should protect that money from yoru spouse's creditors. But, it may cause soem disharmony in the marriage if it is not explained properly.
